To update my apartment, I picked out some bright and funky fabric to cover some canvases that I picked up on sale at Michaels. It took less than an hour to staple the fabric onto the canvas and if I ever want a change, I can replace the fabric at any time. Super quick, super customizable art! I'm super pleased with the result!

Quick Review: Me and Earl and the Dying Girl
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is a refreshing take on YA "sick lit" and a story that you likely won't be able to put down. Sarcastic and witty Greg and his best friend with major street cred, Earl, get to know Rachel after she becomes ill. The three establish an unusual friendship of sorts, navigating high school, love, teenage humour, and family drama along the way. Jesse Andrews perfects the teen voice and simply gets it right. If you like John Green, you'll like this. Definitely looking forward to what he writes in the future.

a toque for a friend
Remember the lovely embroidered postcards Brianna made for me for our DIY gift exchange? Wondering what I sent her?
Now that it has made its way to her, I can showcase the toque I knit up to gift. It is the Renfrew hat, designed by Canadian knitwear designer, Jane Richmond. I used Malabrigo Rios, which is a super soft and washable merino wool. Hope it keeps you warm and stylish, B!
